Carbon Fiber road bike?
How is the ride on a Carbon Fiber Road Bike? compared to aluminum with carbon Fiber forks? About how long will the frame hold up under normal riding and being well taken care of?
The particular one I was looking at was the 2009 Fuji CCR-3 Endurance Carbon Road Bike at Performance. I figured it would be a descent entry level road bike for me, since I plan on doing long rides!
The ride on my Orbea Opal is fantastic. Hard to put into words, but it is fun. The bike is fast, light, responsive, and smooth. Compared to my (7000 series aluminum with carbon stays and forks) Bianchi — the Orbea is my ride of choice except when it rains. I just can’t bring myself to having any chance of corrosion on any of the non-carbon component parts. 4000 miles last season and every one of them were a blast.
I have a friend in my riding group that has an Orbea Onix. He is in love with it over his Aluminum Trek.
One of the features of Orbea, is they give a lifetime warranty on their frames. If it happens to not hold up, some kind of replacement will happen.
