The Key To Hitting The First Page Of Google
Google has the largest market share when it comes to online searches making them the leader of this industry. The only way to succeed in this game is to get your site at the top of the Google SERPs which will ensure you get a large portion of targeted traffic.
Since it is easier for them to rank a site in the correct country for the particular keywords if they know what country to target, Google places high importance on country specific extensions in domain names. Thus, it is imperative to get a country specific top level domain if you have a site that targets a particular country. This will give you an instant advantage in the search results, and help you get the rank you want. It’s also a good idea to make the server where your site is hosted is in the country you want to target. As an example, if you are targeting a British audience, then you want your site hosted on a server in the UK and to use a domain extension such as .co.uk. When you are trying to get good rankings for your site, these issues may seem unimportant but they really do matter.
The age of a domain name does make a difference to Google, with older ones being easier to rank. Google considers that older sites are usually more relevant and trustworthy, which is why age is taken into account when ranking sites. So, if you can find an older domain that already has a good reputation with Google, it will make getting to the top easier. Ranking will be easier with this approach but it certainly isn’t the only variable that will have an impact.
The “Title” tag of your site has an importance and you shouldn’t ignore it. Google determines what to rank a site for by also looking at the Title tag, which is why it should contain your primary keyword. However, don’t go overboard and turn your Title tag into a massive list of keywords. Two keywords in the Title is fine, but don’t go over that number. You can put two keywords together so that they look like just one, which is an intelligent approach. For instance, if your keyword or key phrase is ‘free business card‘, you may utilize the former and add an extra keyword phrase after it like ‘Where you can obtain free business card maker online’.
Being considered a reputable site by the big G is important and one way to do this is to limit the number of links from your site to others. The reason for this is, every outbound link from your site is a potential page rank stealer since it tends to drain the page rank of your page. A reputable site will always have more links heading in than going out because of its quality. Limit the number of outgoing links and make sure they are only important ones if you really must have them.
Working with Google, any website can hit the front page if it takes consistent action in growing and maintaining its position. Unfortunately, many webmasters work for months and sometimes years to get to the top but never do and they are unaware of where they are going. You have to analyze your results and know what you are doing if you want to get to the top of the rankings. You’ll succeed by applying a few simple techniques, meaning that you don’t need to be a search engine genius to make it to the top.
