Rim strip out of duct tape for dirt bike?
i took off the tire on my dirt bike and it had blue duct tape as the rim strip. is it ok to make a rim strip out of duct tape? does it work as good as a rubber rim strip you buy instead?
Yes you can use duct tape.
The rim band is used mainly to prevent the spokes from damaging the tube.
If your wheel is equipped with a rim lock, it will be a little more difficult when changing tires or tubes without a rim band.
