Hidden tow hitch for “03 Mustang?
I’m an avid cyclist and my pos trunk rack isn’t cutting it anymore. I love my mustang and I’d hate to have to have a roof rack system installed, but on the other hand I want a save and secure way to haul my bike around. Another alternative is to use the tow bar that is alredy on the car and use a hitch rack. I was wondering if there was any kind of adapter that would allow me to use the hitch without cutting a hole in the bumper?
I woudl really like to keep the mustang, not only because I love it but because it was reacently paid off.
Any ideas or suggestions would be great! Thanks!
If you already have a reciever hitch installed but the car is interfering with the rack just get somebody to make an adapter so that it can work.
Visit a welding shop in your area, take the car and the rack and show them what it is you want to do. I would bet that they would have some good suggestions, and would easily be able to fab up an adapter just the way you need it.
Cost would be the steel and their time to weld it, and that depends on the business and the amount of time for what is needed, and the amount and size of steel used.
