If you got hit, why isn’t the driver’s insurance covering it? Or do Australian insurance companies work differently than American ones?
The LBS dude should’ve helped you find a new rear wheel when you brought the broken one in. Go back to him and talk to him about buying a new wheel; how you ride, what sort of use it’s being put through, etc.
